for production, which subsequently became known as the G1 was based on a pre war Wolseley Hornet.

company moved to Witham, Essex in 1962, and between 1972 and 1974 operated from

grinnall scorpion : Grinnall
Scorpion III is a
reverse trike, with two wheels at the front and one at the rear, which is a
better-handling configuration than one wheel at the front. Designed in 1991 by Steve Harper, the Scorpion III
features a GRP body tub which is bonded to a space frame chassis underneath,
and employs a BMW K-series motorcycle engine as its power plant. The engine,
gearbox and final drive from the motorcycle are utilised with a special rear
wheel which is fitted with a car tyre, as are the front wheels. It has a very
good power-to-weight ratio which endows it with excellent
performance. The rear wheel is of a smaller circumference than the bike's wheel
so the gearing is optimised for a lower top speed of around 125 mph
(201 km/h) with 0-60 mph taking around 6 seconds when using a K1100
engine. Any K series can be used from a 750 cc, 3-cylinder, to a 1200 cc,
4-cylinder, giving power outputs from 75 bhp (56 kW) to 130 bhp
(97 kW).
The motorcycle sequential
gearchange is retained and operated via a gear shift inside the cockpit and
requires a forward or backward movement to change gear. The brake, accelerator
and clutch operate as per a car and are adjustable for reach to accommodate
drivers of different size. The seat and steering wheel are fixed in position.

gumpert: Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH is a German, Altenburg-based company manufacturing supercars. The founder and owner of Gumpert was Roland
Gumpert, former Director of Audi Sport. Under
his management, Audi won a total of 25 World
Rally Championship races and 4 World
Rally Championship titles.
In 2001 Roland Gumpert proposed a new generation sports car. One of the first concerns
of this car was that it be a street-legal car, ready for the race track.
Gumpert returned to Germany at the end of 2001, after more than
three years in China. There he
was the head of sales and marketing, responsible for the development of the
dealer network of the Audi-VW joint enterprise. Just after he
returned to Germany, Roland Meyer asked him if he would assist him in
building a prototype sports car. Audi approved Gumpert's involvement in this
project, on the condition that, if they did eventually develop a new sports
car, it would not be a prototype,
but a series product.
The company was founded in 2004
under the name GMG Sport wagen manufaktur Altenburg GmbH. The technical
guidelines were defined and the first designs of the car were drawn by Marco Vanetta. Upon Vanetta's completion
of this process, the first 1:4 scale
model of Gumpert's car was
produced in 2002.

guy motors: Guy Motors was a Wolverhampton-based vehicle
manufacturer who produced cars, lorries, buses and trolleybuss. The company was founded by Sydney S. Guy (1885-1971) who
was born in Kings Heath, Birmingham. Guy Motors operated out of its Fallings Park factory from 1914 to 1982, playing an important role in the
development of the British motor industry.
Sydney S. Guy registered Guy
Motors Limited on Saturday 30 May 1914, the same day he departed his position
as Works Manager at the Wolverhampton company, Sunbeam. A factory was built on the
site at Fallings Park, Wolverhampton. and by September 1914 production was
underway on the newly designed 30cwt lorry.
This employed a much lighter form of pressed steel frame, unlike the more
commonly used heavy rolled steel channel frames of the time. This made the vehicle able to cross
difficult terrain and a 14 seat poster bus built based on the design was used
for crossing the Scottish Highlands.
In 1915 Guy came under control of
the Ministry of Munitions and production was focused on the war
effort. The factory continued to produce 30cwt lorries which were supplied to
Britain's allies in the First
World War. They also produced Wasp and Dragonfly radial aircraft engines, Tylor truck engines
and Maudslay gearboxes as well as being the
country's largest maker of depth
charge fuzes. For their efforts during the war Guy
received a commendation from William
Weir, Secretary of State for Air. Due
to orders from the ministry Guy prospered during the war, expanding its factory
and became an established name in British manufacturing.

heinkel cars: The Heinkel
Kabine was a microcar designed by Heinkel Flugzeugwerke and built by them from 1956 to 1958. Production was
transferred under licence to Dundalk Engineering Company in Ireland in 1958 but
the licence was withdrawn shortly afterwards due to poor quality control Production restarted in 1960, again
under licence, under the Trojan
200 name by Trojan Cars Ltd. in the UK, and continued until 1966.
The Heinkel Kabine were also
assembled from 1959 to 1962 under licence by Los Cedros S.A.as Heinkel in
Argentina, they were built alongside Studebaker pickups.
Production began in March 1956
with the Kabine Model 150, using the 174 cc 9.2 hp single-cylinder
four-stroke engine that powered the Heinkel
Tourist scooter. In October 1956, Heinkel introduced
the Kabine Model 153 (with three wheels) and the Kabine Model 154 (with four
wheels), both with 204 cc engines. The engines in these models were later
reduced in capacity to 198 cc for insurance purposes.
The Kabine had a steel unit body. Access to the interior was by an
opening front, but in order not to infringe Iso
Rivolta’s patent used on the Isetta,
the steering wheel did not move with the door. However, it did feature a
reverse gear, unlike some other bubble
cars. The fabric sun roof served as an emergency escape hatch should the sole
door in front become jammed in a collision.

hilman: Hillman is a British automobile marque created by the Hillman Motor Car Company, founded in 1907.
The company was based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, near Coventry, England. Before 1907 the company had built bicycles.
Although the Hillman company was acquired by Humber in 1929, Hillman was used as the primary marque of the Rootes Group from 1931, following its acquisition of Humber, until 1967,
when Chrysler in turn took over Rootes. The marque continued to be used
under Chrysler until 1976.
The original company, named
Hillman-Coatalen, was founded by William
Hillman with the Breton Louis Coatalen as designer and chief engineer.
Coatalen left in 1909 to join Sunbeam and the company was re-registered as
the Hillman Motor Car Company in 1910.
The first cars were large,
featuring a 9.76-litre 6-cylinder engine or a 6.4-litre four. A smaller car,
the 9 hp of 1913 with a 1357 cc side-valve four-cylinder, was the first to
sell in significant numbers and was re-introduced after the First World War as
the 11 hp, having grown to 1600 cc. The big seller was the 14 hp
introduced in 1925, and the only model made until 1928. Following the fashion
of the time a Straight Eight of 2.6 litres and Hillman's first use of overhead
valves came in 1928 but soon gained a reputation for big end problems.

The company traces its roots back to the founding of Tokyo
Gas Industry Company in 1910. In 1910 Chiyoda Gas Co. was established and
competed fiercely against incumbent Tokyo Gas Company fighting for gas lighting users. Tokyo Gas Industry was a
parts supplier for Chiyoda Gas but it was defeated and merged into Tokyo Gas in
1912. Losing its largest client, Tokyo Gas Industry Co. broadened their product
line including electronic parts, and renamed itself as Tokyo Gas and Electric
Indus, TG&E and was often abbreviated as Gasuden. It produced its first motor vehicle in 1917, the Model TGE "A-Type" truck. In 1937,
TG&E merged its automobile division with that of Automobile Industry Co., Ltd. and
Kyodo Kokusan K.K., to form Tokyo Automobile Industry Co., Ltd., with TG&E
as a shareholder. Four years later, the company changed its name to Diesel
Motor Industry Co., Ltd., which would eventually become Isuzu Motors Limited.

It is the producer of the Ambassador car, widely used as a taxicab and as a government limousine. This car is based on the Morris Oxford, a British car that dates back to 1954.
One of the original three car
manufacturers in India, founded in 1942 by Mr. B. M. Birla, it was a leader in car sales until the
1980s, when the industry was opened up from protection.
All through its history, the company has depended on government patronage for
its sales and for survival by eliminating competition. Manoj Jha was the
Managing Director and R. Yeshwanth. Manoj Jha stepped down from the post on 21
February 2012. It began in Port
Okha near Gujarat; in 1948, it
moved to West Bengal. The Place is now Called Hindmotor.
Hindustan Motors Limited (HML), India's pioneering automobile

Founded in 1856 by James
Alexander Holden, in 1885 the establishment combined with the carriage builder
Henry Frost to become Holden
& Frost. In 1908 it moved into the automotive field, trimming motor
vehicles and in 1914 they built their first one-off car body for an imported
chassis, with larger contracts following. The firm became a subsidiary of the US-based General Motors (GM) automotive group in 1931, and
resultantly retitled General
Motors-Holden's Ltd. In the late 1930s, the idea of producing a car made
entirely in Australia was conceived, but plans were put on hold after the
outbreak of World War II. During
the war, General Motors-Holden's was a major industrial force in Australia's
defence effort. Between 1939 and 1945, Holden's produced more than 30,000
bodies for the Australian and US forces and manufactured a wide range of
equipment, including field guns, aircraft, boats, including truck, aeroplane
and marine engines and components.
Holden has taken charge of GM's

Holden has offered a broad range of locally produced vehicles, supplemented by
imported GM models. Holden has offered badge
engineered Chevrolet, Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota, and Vauxhall Motors models in sharing arrangements, with GM Korea, Opel and Isuzu-sourced models sold currently.
Holden is also responsible for the distribution of the Opel brand in Australia.

hommell: Hommell is a French Automobile manufacturer, started in 1990 by
Michel Hommell, a former racing driver and the owner of Échappement, a French car magazine.
The company is based in Lohéac,
near Rennes, Brittany. A
prototype of the kind of sports car he would like to be produced was shown at
the 1990 Paris Salon, where it was well received, encouraging him to go ahead
with a production version. This was shown at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show. The 2
seat sports coupe is powered by a mid-mounted 2.0lt Peugeot engine and 6 speed gearbox in a
tubular steel chassis with all-round independent suspension.
In 1998, the Barquette, an
open-top version was announced, and at the same time the Berlinette RS, as the

Motor Company, Ltd.. is a
Japanese public multinational

Honda has been the world's
largest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959, as
well as the world's largest manufacturer of internal
combustion engines measured by
volume, producing more than 14 million internal combustion engines each year. Honda surpassed Nissan in 2001 to become the second-largest
Japanese automobile manufacturer. As
of August 2008, Honda surpassed Chrysler as the fourth largest automobile
manufacturer in the United States. Honda
was the seventh largest automobile manufacturer in the world behind Toyota, General Motors, Volkswagen AG, Hyundai Motor Group, Ford, and Nissan in 2010.
Honda was the first Japanese
automobile manufacturer to release a dedicated luxury brand, Acura, in 1986. Aside from their core
automobile and motorcycle businesses, Honda also manufactures garden equipment,
marine engines, personal watercraft and power generators, amongst others. Since
1986, Honda has been involved with artificial intelligence/robotics research and
released their ASIMO robot in
2000. They have also ventured into aerospace with the establishment of GE Honda Aero Engines in 2004 and the Honda HA-420 HondaJet, scheduled to be
released in 2012. Honda invests about 5% of its revenues in research and development.
From a young age, Honda's founder, had an interest in automobiles. He
worked as a mechanic at the Art Shokai garage, where he tuned cars and entered
them in races. In 1937, with financing from an acquaintance, Kato Shichirō,
Honda founded Tōkai Seiki (Eastern Sea Precision Machine Company) to make piston rings working out of the Art Shokai garage. After initial failures, Tōkai Seiki
won a contract to supply piston rings to Toyota, but lost the contract due to the poor quality of their
products. After attending
engineering school, without graduating, and visiting factories around Japan to
better understand Toyota's quality control processes, Honda was able, by 1941,
to mass produce piston rings acceptable to Toyota, using an automated process
that could employ even unskilled wartime laborers.
Honda is headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Their shares
trade on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange, as well as
exchanges in Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Kyoto, Fukuoka,
London, Paris and Switzerland.
The company has assembly plants
around the globe. These plants are located in China, the United States,
Pakistan, Canada, England, Japan, Belgium, Brazil, México, New Zealand,
Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Turkey, Taiwan and Perú. As of July 2010,
89 percent of Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the United States were built in
North American plants, up from 82.2 percent a year earlier. This shields

horch: The company was established first by August Horch and his first
business partner Salli Herz on November 14, 1899 at Ehrenfeld, Cologne. August
Horch was a former production manager for Karl
Benz. Three years later in 1902 he moved with his
company to Reichenbach im
Vogtland. On May, 10th, 1904 he founded the Horch & Cie. Motorwagenwerke AG,
a joint-stock company in Zwickau (State of Saxony). The city of Zwickau was the capital of the South Western Saxon County and one
of Saxony's industrial centres at the time.
Both companies from Zwickau (Horch and Audi) were unified in
1932 with DKW and Wanderer to Saxony's Auto
Union corporation. The Silver Arrow racing cars of the Auto Union racing team in
Zwickau, developed by Ferdinand Porsche and Robert
Eberan von Eberhorst, driven by Bernd Rosemeyer,Hans Stuck, Tazio Nuvolari, Ernst
von Delius, were known the world over in the 1930s.
The company initially began
producing 5 hp (3.7 kW;
5.1 PS) and 10 hp (7.5 kW; 10 PS) twin-cylinder engine
automobiles near Cologne in 1901.
The first Horch had a 4.5 hp
(3.4 kW; 4.6 PS) engine, with an alloy crankcase, a unique
achievement in those days. It had an open-body design, with lighting provided
by lanterns with candles in them. In contrast with the powerful cars of later
years, the first Horch could barely reach a top speed of 32 km/h
(20 mph). It was significant at that time because it used a friction
clutch, and also had a drive shaft to power the wheels.
The firm soon ran into financial
troubles, not surprising considering the pioneering nature of the automobile
business at that time. Horch had to seek new partners.
On March 1902, August Horch
produced a 20 hp (15 kW; 20 PS) four-cylinder car with a shaft
drive in Reichenbach in Vogtland. Horch cars were considered more advanced and superior to those
being then built by Mercedes or Benz (who were then separate
manufacturers).
By 1903, Horch had built a car
with a four-cylinder engine. In March of the following year, he introduced his
new car at the Frankfurt Fair.
In 1904, August Horch developed
the first six-cylinder engine, which appeared in 1907. In 1906 a Horch
automobile driven by Dr. Rudolf Stöss from Zwickau won the Herkomer Competition
(equivalent to a 'brand-name' world championship at the time). In the 1920s,
Moritz Stauss, a cosmopolitan Berliner, was the principal stockholder of the
Horch company. He succeeded in making the Horch brand highly desirable by
introducing art into the advertising of their products. He recognized that only
a brand emphasising Horch's unique characteristics would be successful.
In 1923, Paul Daimler (a Stauss
associate) worked for Horch as the chief engineer for 8-cylinder engines. Horch
vehicles were subsequently the first to introduce 8-cylinder engines in series
production.
In 1909, the supervisory board
(the German equivalent of the Board of Directors) of the corporation forced out
Horch. Horch went on to found Audi as Audiwerke GmbH, which became
effective on 25 April 1910. The name was a solution to the legal dispute with
his old company over use of the Horch brand.
In 1928, the company was acquired
by Jørgen Skafte Rasmussen, owner
of DKW(from the German Dampfkraftwagen, or steam

Hotchkiss: Hotchkiss cars were made between 1903 and 1955 by the
French company Hotchkiss et Cie in Saint-Denis,
Paris. The badge for the marque showed a pair of crossed cannons, evoking the
company's history as an arms manufacturer.
The company's first entry into
car making came from orders for engine components such as crankshafts which
were supplied to Panhard et
Levassor,De Dion-Bouton and other
pioneering companies and in 1903 they went on to make complete engines.
Encouraged by two major car distributors, Mann and Overton of London and
Fournier of Paris, Hotchkiss decided to start making their own range of cars
and purchased a Mercedes Simplex for inspiration and Georges

The first Hotchkiss car, a 17 CV four-cylinder model,
appeared in 1903. The engine of the 20 CV type C was heavily based on the
Mercedes Simplex except that wherever possible it used ball bearings rather
than plain ones (including the crankshaft) and except the Hotchkiss drive.

Edward Halford, Guy Robins and Henry Ronald Godfrey, it took its name from the first letter of their surnames.
Having raced together at Brooklands, Ron Godfrey approached
Major Edward Halford in 1935 as regards the development of a new sports car.
Having shown the prototype in late 1935, the company was formed in 1936 with

Taking space at the premises of
the Mid-Surrey Gear Company in Hampden Road, Norbiton,

hudson motors: The Hudson
Motor Car Company made Hudson
and other brand automobiles in Detroit,
Michigan, from 1909 to 1954. In 1954, Hudson merged
with Nash-Kelvinator
Corporation to form American
Motors. The Hudson name was continued through the
1957 model year, after which it was dropped.
The name "Hudson" came
from Joseph L. Hudson, a Detroit department store entrepreneur and
founder of Hudson's department store, who provided the
necessary capital and gave permission for the company to be named after him. A
total of eight Detroit businessmen formed the company on February 20, 1909, to produce an automobile which would
sell for less than US$1,000. One
of the chief "car men" and organizer of the company was Roy D. Chapin, Sr., a young executive
who had worked with Ransom E.
Olds. (Chapin's son, Roy Jr., would later be president of Hudson-Nash descendant
American Motors Corp. in the 1960s). The company quickly started production,
with the first car driven out of a small factory in Detroit on July 3, 1909.
The new Hudson "Twenty"
was one of the first low-priced cars on the American market and very successful
with more than 4,000 sold the first year.
The company had a number of firsts for the auto industry;
these included dual brakes, the use of dashboard oil-pressure and generator warning
lights, and the first balanced crankshaft, which allowed the Hudson straight-six engine, dubbed the "Super Six" (1916), to work at a
higher rotational speed while remaining smooth, developing more power for its
size than lower-speed engines. Most Hudsons until 1957 had straight-6 engines.
The dual brake system used a secondary mechanical emergency brake system, which
activated the rear brakes when the pedal traveled beyond the normal reach of
the primary system; a mechanical parking brake was also used. Hudson
transmissions also used an oil bath and cork clutch mechanism that proved to be
as durable as it was smooth.
At their peak in 1929, Hudson and Essex produced a combined
300,000 cars in one year, including contributions from Hudson's other factories
in Belgium and England; a factory had been built in 1925 in Brentford in London. Hudson was
the third largest U.S. car maker that year, after Ford Motor Company and Chevrolet.

hummer: Hummer was a brand of trucks and SUVs, first
marketed in 1992 when AM General began selling a civilian version of
the M998 Humvee. In 1998,General Motors (GM)
purchased the brand name and marketed three vehicles: the original Hummer H1, based on the Humvee;
and the H2 and H3
models that were based on smaller, civilian-market GM platforms.
By 2008, Hummer's viability in
the economic downturn was being questioned, and it was
placed under review by GM management. Rather than being transferred to Motors Liquidation Company as part of the GM bankruptcy in 2009,
the brand was retained by GM, in order to investigate its sale.
In 2009, a Chinese manufacturer, Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial
Machinery Company, announced that it would acquire Hummer, pending government
approvals, but later withdrew its bid. On
February 24, 2010, Reuters reported that the Chinese
ministry of commerce had
prevented the deal, although a
ministry spokesperson denied rejecting the application, which had been stalled
for eight months. At the end of
February, General Motors announced it would begin dismantling the Hummer brand.
Although the automaker announced
two days later that it had been approached with new offers,[5] by April 2010, any sale became
unlikely, as inventory was depleted and Hummer dealerships began shutting down. After filling a rental-car fleet
order, the last Hummer H3 rolled off the line at Shreveport on May 24,
2010.
The original Hummers were first
designed and built by AM General Corporation, which was formerly AMC-Jeep's General Products division, in its Mishawaka, Indiana, assembly plant.
The vehicles were created under a contract for the United States armed forces. The first
model, the HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), was built in a
variety of military-based equipment and versions. The US$1.2 billion contract
won by AM General in 1983 was to produce 55,000 "Humvees" by 1985,
which was later increased by 15,000 additional units.
AM General had planned to sell a
civilian version of the Humvee as far back as the late 1980s. Having the same
structure and most mechanical components, the civilian Hummers were finished in
automotive gloss paint, adding passenger car enhancements such as air conditioning, sound insulation,
upgraded upholstery, stereo systems, wood trim, and convenience packages. The civilian model began in part
because of the persistence of Arnold
Schwarzenegger, who saw an Army convoy while filming a movie.
In 1990, two matching white
Humvees were driven from London to Beijing over the rough roads of central Soviet Union. The Hummers made the
trip with ease, for they were built to drive on off-road terrain. The
highlights of this journey were broadcast in the United States on ESPN. This publicity would pale in
comparison to the attention that the Humvee received for its service in Gulf War Operation: Desert Storm, the
following year.Also, a privately-owned Humvee was modified into the first Snow-Vee,
including the addition of caterpillar tracks, a new rear compartment and a new
engine. This vehicle was designed for use in and just below the Arctic Circle,
and the Antarctic.
In 1992, AM General began selling
a civilian version of the M998 Humvee vehicle to the public under the brand
name "Hummer".
In December 1999, AM General sold the brand name to General
Motors, but continued to manufacture the vehicles. GM was responsible for the marketing
and distribution of all Hummers produced by AM General. Shortly thereafter, GM
introduced two of its own design models, the H2 and H3, and renamed the original vehicle H1. AM General continued
to build the H1 until it was discontinued in 2006, and was contracted by GM to produce
the H2. The H3 was built in Shreveport, LA alongside the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, with which it shared theGMT-355 platform (modified and designated GMT-345). Hummer
dealership buildings featured an over sized half Quonset Hut style roof, themed
to the Hummer brand's military origins.

Husky was a line of British
passenger vehicles manufactured between 1954 and 1970 by the Rootes Group, under their Hillman marque.
The first (or "Mark 1")
Hillman Husky, introduced in 1954, was a small estate based on the contemporary "Mark
VIII" Hillman Minx. The
two-door Husky entered the range alongside an existing Minx estate car, which
had a 9-inch (230 mm) longer wheelbase. The Husky was not a hatchback,
having instead a single side-hinged rear door. While the new Mark VIII Minx
DeLuxe saloon, convertible and "Californian" hardtop used a new OHV
1390 cc engine, the Husky continued to use the older 1265 cc
35 bhp (26 kW) sidevalve engine with single Zenith carburettor which
it shared with the Minx "Special" saloon and estate. Unlike the Minx
with its column change, the gear lever for the Husky was floor mounted.
There were individual seats in
front and a bench seat in the rear which would fold flat to increase load area.
The trim material was leathercloth. Both the heater and radio were optional
extras. The car was available in blue, grey, green or sand paint (1954
colours).
The Husky was badge engineered and slightly modified to form the Commer Cob – basically the same vehicle but
with the rear side windows removed to create a panel van.

officially started selling vehicles on November 8, 1989 in North America. The
marketing network for Infiniti-branded vehicles now includes over 230 dealers

marque is not used in Japan and the automaker markets most of equivalent
Infiniti models domestically as Nissans: Infiniti

Million. The British company had

the UK press, Italian Innocenti sales were second only to those of Fiat, and ahead of Volkswagen and Renault:
there was talk of further increasing annual production from 56,452 in 1971 to
100,000. However, the peak production under BLMC was 62,834 in 1972, in spite
of exports increasing from one car in
1971 to over 17,000 in 1974. Demonstrating
their ambitions, the British company installed as Managing Director one of
their youngest UK based senior executives, the then 32-year old former
Financial Controller Geoffrey
Robinson. Three years later BLMC

invicta: Invicta is a British automobile manufacturer. The brand has been available intermittently
through successive decades. Initially, the manufacturer was based in Cobham, Surrey, England from 1925 to 1933, then in Chelsea, London, England from 1933 to 1938 and finally in Virginia Water, Surrey, England from 1946 to 1950. More recently, the
name has been revived for the new S1 sports car.
The company was founded by Noel Macklin, who had previously tried car making with the Eric-Campbell and Silver Hawk companies, with Oliver Lyle of the sugar
family providing finance, with assembly taking place in Macklin's
garage at his home at Fairmile Cottage on the main London to Portsmouth road in
Cobham, Surrey. The cars
were designed to combine flexibility, the ability to accelerate from virtual
standstill in top gear, with sporting performance. With the assistance of
William (Willie) Watson, his mechanic from pre-World War I racing days, a prototype was built on a Bayliss-Thomas frame with Coventry Simplex engine in the stables of
Macklin's house on the western side of Cobham. The first production car, the
1925 2½ litre used a Meadows straight six, overhead-valve engine and four-speed gearbox
in a chassis with semi elliptical springs all round cost from £595. Three
different chassis lengths were available, 9 feet 4 inches
(2.84 m), 9 feet 10 inches (3.00 m) and 10 feet
(3.0 m) to cater for the customer's choice of bodywork. As demand grew a
lot of the construction work went to Lenaerts and Dolphens in Barnes, London
but final assembly and test remained at Fairmile.

(Engineering company for Styling, Design and Racing) is a privately run automaker based in a small workshop in Hildesheim, Germany. The company was formerly based in Leonberg, Germany. Each high-performance sports
car is hand-built by a small team of craftsmen, and the only
way to purchase an Isdera is to call the CEO directly. Each vehicle is custom
built for its buyer, and a waiting period of six months is to be expected.

Eberhard Schulz appeared in 1969. It was Erator GTE, the replica of Ford GT40 race
car. In 1978 Mercedes-Benz presented the concept car CW 311, engineered by

was presented in 1982. Some other vehicles in the company's history are the

The Iso Grifo is an Italian automobile produced by Iso
Rivolta between 1963 and 1974.
Iso S.p.A. in Bresso was already well known for producing the extremely well
built and fast Iso Rivolta IR300; a sleek looking 2+2 Coupe based on a Chevrolet Corvette power train. After leaving Ferrari, in 1961 Giotto
Bizzarrini set up “Prototipi Bizzarrini” in Livorno, Tuscany where he designed and consulted for marques like ATS, Lamborghini and Iso Rivolta. In 1963 he designed the Iso Grifo A3/L (L
for Lusso {Italian for Luxury}) for Renzo
Rivolta, who was looking for a follow-up to his Iso
Rivolta GT. The body was designed by Giorgetto
Giugiaro at Bertone, while Bizzarrini put his expertise in the mechanicals.
Bizzarrini figured there would also be a demand for a race version of the Grifo
and came up with the A3/C (C for Corsa) with a dramatic modified alloy body. He
later dubbed it his “Improved GTO", as he had been the designer for the250
GTO when he had worked for Ferrari. The engine was moved back
about 40 centimetres (16 in), making the A3/C one of the first
front-mid-engined cars ever built. To adjust the timing a piece of the dash was
removed. Both cars were being built simultaneously.

IZH car: Izh 2125 "Comby" is a small family car produced by the Soviet automotive maker IZh from 1973 to 1997. It was based on an Izhevsk-modified Moskvitch
412, with the first prototype released in 1972 to
meet small family needs. Although considered by many to be the first Soviet hatchback (released about a decade before the well-known Lada
Samara), the car actually possessed a station wagon body. The back did not profit from weight reduction, which
would position the model rather in the liftback family. For the same reason, the car was given the
"Comby" nickname, which in a way alludes to the Combi coupé.
The Comby knew a notable success in sales within USSR between
1974 and 1980 due in large part to lack of competition - station wagon variants
of the Lada, Moscow-built Moskvitch and Volga were reserved for institutional
use leaving the Izh as the only two-box vehicle offered to the general public,
however, due to absence of upmarket components export models were never
produced and the car did not sell outside the country. In 1982, when Izh 412
was discontinued, the Comby received a redesigned Moskvitch 2140 body and was then rebranded as 21251. Among notable features, the car borrowed a dashboard from the 2140, featured improved seats and headrests were now installed. Besides the initial hatchback body, the
new Comby also took over Izh 2715 panel van variant that also got facelifted in the same year.

has historically only produced commercial trucks (under the brand name Jianghui), but MPVs and SUVs appeared
in the 2000s. By 2007 the company had gained government approval for passenger

JAC cooperated with Hyundai
Motors. Beginning in 2003, it
assembled Hyundai MPVs although this stopped sometime prior to 2007. At least two models based on Hyundai
technology continued to be made by JAC after the cooperation was cancelled–a MPV and a SUV. Hyundai explored setting up a joint venture with the company in 2004, but the plan was soon discarded.

a recent event a 2009 Chinese government indication that it was in continued
support of consolidation in the Chinese auto industry led analysts to predict
the possibility of JAC joining with Chery since they are both located in Anhui province. On the surface such a merger would
make sense: Chery mainly built passenger cars, and JAC was almost entirely
focused on trucks at the time. Since then, however, JAC has made it clear that
they are not interested in consolidation under the aegis of the larger Chery. JAC has begun to concentrate more on

Group LLC, a multinational manufacturer in a global strategic alliance with Fiat. The former Chrysler Corporation
acquired the Jeep brand, along with the remaining assets of its owner American Motors, in 1987. Jeep's line
of vehicles consists solely of sport
utility vehicles and off-road vehicles but has also included pickup trucks in the past.
The
first Willys MB Jeeps were produced in 1941 with the first civilian models in 1945, making it the oldest off-road vehicle and sport
utility vehicle(SUV) brand. It inspired a number of other light utility vehicles, such as the Land Rover which is the second oldest
4-wheel-drive brand. The original Jeep vehicle that first appeared as the
prototype Bantam BRC became the primary light 4-wheel-drive
vehicle of the United States Army and Allies during World War II, as well as the
postwar period. Many Jeep variants serving similar military and civilian roles
have since been created in other nations.
Many explanations of the origin
of the word jeep have proven difficult to verify. The
most widely-held theory is that the military designation GP (for Government
Purposes or General Purpose) was slurred
into the word Jeep in the same way that the contemporary HMMWV (for High-Mobility
Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle) has become known as the humvee.
An
alternative view launched by R.
Lee Ermey, on his television series Mail
Call, disputes this, saying
that the vehicle was designed for specific duties, and was never referred to as
"General Purpose" and it is highly unlikely that the average
jeep-driving GI would have been familiar with this
designation. The Ford GPW abbreviation actually meant G for government use, P
to designate its 80-inch (2,000 mm) wheelbase and W to indicate its Willys-Overland
designed engine. Ermey suggests that soldiers at the time were so impressed
with the new vehicles that they informally named it after Eugene the Jeep, a character in the Popeye
cartoons created by E. C. Segar.
Eugene the Jeep was Popeye's "jungle pet" and was "small, able
to move between dimensions and could solve seemingly impossible problems."
Jeep: A four-wheel drive
vehicle of one-half- to one-and-one-half-ton capacity for reconnaissance or
other army duty. A term applied to the bantam-cars, and occasionally to other
motor vehicles (U.S.A.) in the Air Corps, the Link Trainer; in the armored forces,
the ½-ton command vehicle. Also referred to as "any small plane,
helicopter, or gadget.
This definition is supported by the use of the term "jeep
carrier" to refer to the Navy's small escort
carriers.

kenworth: Kenworth is a manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty Class

Kenworth began its history in Portland, Oregon.
In 1912, the company was founded by brothers George
T. and Louis Gerlinger, Jr. as a car and truck dealership
known as Gerlinger Motor Car Works. In 1914, they decided to build their own
truck with a more powerful inline
six-cylinder engine. This was the first ever put into
a commercial truck. The Gersix, as it was known, unveiled in 1915, was framed
in structural steel, which along with its power, made the truck ideal for the
rugged Northwest, where it
was used for logging.
In 1916 the Gerlinger Motor Car
Company moved to Tacoma,
Washington. Seattle businessman Edgar K. Worthington was
managing his mother's commercial building, where Gerlinger became a tenant, and
became intrigued by the Gerlinger company. Worthington's tenant was doing quite
well, or so it seemed, and the Gersix became a popular fixture in the Northwest. In 1917 Worthington and his business
partner Captain Frederick Kent bought the Gerlinger business, renaming it the
Gersix Motor Co.
In
1919 Kent retired from the business, and his son Harry Kent became
Worthington's new partner. In
1922, Gersix made 53 trucks at its factory on Fairview Avenue at Valley Street.
Under the new name, the company moved to 506 Mercer Street and later to 1263
Mercer Street. Trucks and motor coaches were assembled in individual bays
rather than on a conventional assembly line.[4] In
1923 Kent and Worthington reincorporated the business as the Kenworth Motor
Truck Company. The name was a combination of the two names "Ken" and
"Worth", the same as the surname "Kenworth". In 1926 they
started making buses, and in 1933 Kenworth was the first American company to
offer diesel engines as standard in their trucks. In 1945 Kenworth was bought by The Pacific Car and Foundry Company.

kleiber: In the early 1900s, Paul Kleiber experimented with horseless carriages and was a distributor for the popular Gramm trucks. By 1913 he designed a truck and established The Kleiber Motor Truck Co. The Kleiber trucks were well built and sold well prompting Kleiber to enter the growing market for passenger cars.
From 1924 to 1929 produced a small number of American Automobiles which were sold on the Pacific Coast only.
In
1925 Paul Kleiber open a new plant and established distributorships in
California, Oregon and Washington. Kleiber Six automobiles were built in 1924
and sold in 1925. The Kleiber was advertised as a "Modern Quality
Automobile" that was "Aristocratic In
Appearance". Four body styles were produced in 1925, including a
California Top Touring Sedan, two other five passenger models and a four passenger
coach. Prices in 1925 were $1,885 to $2,350.00 depending on model. In 1927 a
seven passenger model, a coupe and a brougham were added.
The
Kleiber Six was equipped with a Continental Red Seal six cylinder engine that
developed 60 horsepower, a three speed transmission that had a top speed of 60
miles per hour. The chassis had a semielliptic leaf spring suspension and
mechanical brakes. A straight eight cylinder model was planed but never
produced due a decline in sales and the stock market crash of 1929. The Kleiber
Motor Truck Co. continued to manufacture trucks until 1937.

is a factory that produces trucks and other special-purpose vehicles in Kremenchuk, Ukraine; particularly heavy-duty off-road models. The factory was incorporated as a holding company combining several other factories nationwide and becoming
the industrial wing of the finance-industrial group"Finance and
Credit" that also holds
the Bank Finance and
Credit.
Kraz was founded on 31 August
1945 when the People's Commissariat for Transportion Routes issued a warrant to
build a mechanical bridge plant in Kremenchuk. The first brick was laid in the
plant foundation in 1946 and during the next 8 years it produced about 600
bridges with the total length of about 27 km for use on the Dnipro, Moscow, Dniester, Volga and Daugava rivers etc. In 1956 the plant has
manufactured combine harvesters and other farming machines. The
Kremenchug combine plant has produced 11,000 agricultural machines in the first
two years of its existence.
On April 17th, 1958 the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union decided to build a plant for
heavy-duty vehicle production in Kremenchuk. Heavy-duty truck manufacture was
transferred from the Yaroslav
automobile plant or YaAZ. the first two KrAZ-222 dump
trucks were assembled from imported units and components on 10 April 1959, and
by 1961 the plant exported over 500 vehicles in 26 countries of the world such
as Argentina, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, China, India, Vietnam etc. KrAZ was awarded the Order of Lenin in January 1971 for completion of the
five-year plan ahead of schedule and successful developments of new truck
models. On January 15th, 1976 the plant became "AvtoKrAZ".
